How to work from home E-learning

Most homes aren't designed for computer work. Kitchen tables, sofas and poorly positioned laptop screens can lead to working postures that would rarely be considered acceptable in an office. For employers, it's also harder to know what their employees' working conditions are like. On top of this, working from home can mean more distractions, missed breaks and blurred boundaries between work and personal life.

This training shows employees how to create a comfortable, ergonomic workspace using what they already have at home. It also helps them establish good working habits, take regular breaks and stay connected with colleagues.

From the course:

  • Static and dynamic work: why your body needs movement, variety and microbreaks
  • How to set up a comfortable workspace at a regular table, on the sofa or while standing
  • Lighting and noise: where to position your workspace in relation to windows and how to get the lighting right
  • Choosing the right equipment: raising your laptop screen and using a separate keyboard, mouse and monitor
  • Habits and routines: managing distractions, setting rules for email and maintaining a healthy work-life balance

After the course:

  • Employees have set up their home workspaces using a practical checklist
  • Changing positions and taking microbreaks become a natural part of working from home
  • Lighting, noise and equipment are properly taken care of rather than dealt with through temporary fixes
  • Employees have established their own routines to maintain clear boundaries between work and personal life

The training consists of five modules and additional resources, taking approximately 25 minutes to complete. Ergonomists Linda Olsberg and Eli Lindergård offer practical guidance, share useful tips and suggest simple exercises to do during breaks.

This training is designed for employees who work from home, whether regularly or occasionally, and use a computer as their main work tool.
