OSWE – Organisational and Social Work Environment E-learning

Workload, working hours and victimization are work environment issues, just like physical risks. Managers are expected to know the Swedish provisions on the organisational and social work environment and apply them in everyday leadership, and that expectation holds whether or not they've been given any training. For managers who work in English, the provisions are often the hardest part to get a grip on. This course gives them the basics of AFS 2023:2 and practical tools for creating a healthy workplace.

From the course:

  • How OSWE and systematic work environment management (SWEM) work together
  • Workload: keeping demands and resources in balance
  • Working hours: scheduling that allows recovery, including shift and night work
  • Victimization: what it is, zero tolerance and your role in preventing it
  • Your role: allocation of work environment responsibilities, knowledge and resources, and OSWE objectives

After the course:

  • Managers know what the provisions require of them in their own role
  • Workload is discussed in terms of demands and resources, not individual effort
  • Working hours are planned so that recovery is possible, including shift and night work
  • Victimization is handled the same way wherever in the organisation it comes up

The course takes about 45 minutes to complete and includes seven sections with short videos, interactive exercises and reflection questions. The course ends with a knowledge test, and participants receive a diploma when they pass.

This suits organisations with English-speaking managers who have delegated work environment tasks, and safety representatives who need the same foundation.
