NPDs in the Workplace - A Manager's Guide E-learning
Managers already lead employees with ADHD, autism, Tourette's syndrome or a language impairment, whether anyone has told them or not. Without knowledge, the usual response is to avoid the subject or to guess, and both leave the employee without the adjustments they need. The Discrimination Act, the Work Environment Act and the rules on job modification set requirements on you as an employer, and those requirements are met by managers in everyday decisions about tasks, meetings and communication. This course gives them the knowledge to make those adjustments.
From the course:
-
Basic facts about ADHD, autism, Tourette's syndrome and language impairment
-
Meet Tim, Hannah, Molly, Daniella and William, employees at a web agency who share how they handle their diagnoses at work
-
What the law requires: the Discrimination Act, the Work Environment Act and job modification (AFS 2023:2)
-
How to raise concerns with an employee without diagnosing or prying
-
Advice on onboarding, meetings and kickoffs that include everyone
-
Checklists for ADHD and autism in the workplace
After the course:
-
Managers understand how NPDs can show up at work and stop reading them as attitude problems
-
Concerns get raised with an employee without diagnosing or prying
-
Tasks, communication and meetings get adapted so everyone on the team can do their best
-
You know what the law requires and how it applies to a manager's daily decisions
The course takes at least 60 minutes across nine sections with short films, audio interviews, interactive exercises, reflection questions and checklists. In most sections participants choose between watching, listening and reading.
Suits you who have managers with staff responsibility, whether or not anyone on their teams has disclosed a diagnosis.
